Shola and Taiwo – Old Hollywood style

I’ve been working on some very interesting engagement shoots lately. Meet Shola and Taiwo who will be tying the knot next month. We decided to go for this old Hollywood theme. I don’t think I could have asked for any better couple to role play this concept. Shot after shot they nailed the mood and concept. Taiwo played a rich Hollywood star who met this beautiful lady. And of course he spent some time trying to let this fine lady know that he’s the right one for her, did she agree? Well lets see.

Technical bits - shot this with Canon 5D Mark II, 85mm 1.8, 85mm 1.2 and 35mm 1.4. Placed my subjects in uneven shadowed areas to create some uneven lighting in some shots and sometimes with a little fill flash so this gave me that old school feel the the shots.

Kelli and Jason

Meet Kelli and Jason. Kelli has to be the most quiet bride I’ve ever shot. I shot their e-shoot sometime in May and we had fun the “Kelli and Jason” way – Fun and simple. I will be blogging their June 25th wedding in about a week or so, so check back soon. Here are my fav 12 from their shoot. We shot this mostly in Georgetown as you can see from the brick buildings.

Technical bits – shot these mostly with 35mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.2 on Canon 5D mark II

Blessing & Frank

When Blessing called me up to book me for her wedding, it went something like this -

Blessing – Are you open for for Junxx?

Dotun – Yes, I am

Blessing – How much is your full wedding coverage?

Dotun – $xxxx.00

Blessing – Ok, I will send you my deposit tomorrow

Now most my consultations don’t go that easy straight to the point, no hassle, no haggle and immediately I knew she was going to be fun to shoot. And Frank came along and it was like icing on the cake. Very fun couple to shoot as you will see. I don’t like to bore you with too much talk so enjoy my fav 12 from their E-shoot. They are married now and should be featuring them soon, I had a blast at their wedding by the way!

We know God had already sealed this union so we stopped by the Supreme court of the US to make it official…it gets no better.

Joi & Tony – Engaged

I met Joi at a wedding I shot about a year ago – she was one of the few guest photos I took that day. When she contacted me she was like “you know me, you took my shot before” and I just laughed because I take hundreds of pictures per event. Honestly, when I shoot weddings the only persons I know are the bride and groom and depending on how large the bridal party is I may attempt to learn their names. When I finally met Joi and Toni it was obvious that I was going to have a great time shooting their engagement and wedding. Congratulations again Joy and Tony – I can’t wait for the big day – Kenyan Style. Enjoy my faves from their shoot.

When I told them to sit for this shot the exact words Tony said to Joi was I quote “sit down here? this dude is crazy”…lol

Ogo and Ikenna – Golf edition

Meet another lovely couple Ogo and Ikenna. We did this entire shoot almost all in one spot and it looked just as good as multiple locations. I will be blogging a part 2 before their wedding from other shoots but enjoy some of my faves for now.
